VERILAST is the combination of OXINIUM* Oxidized Zirconium and highly cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). OXINIUM Oxidized Zirconium metallic components feature a bearing surface that is transformed to ceramic, which is twice as hard as CoCr4. OXINIUM Oxidized Zirconium therefore has toughness and ductility of metals and wear properties of ceramics.

Minimally Invasive for Faster Recovery

Direct Anterior Hip Replacement

This minimally invasive technique allows the surgeon to access the joint through a smaller incision, which can mean a smaller scar. Preserving the soft tissue surrounding the joint allows for immediate stability following surgery, as well as a lower risk of dislocation, as the primary support muscles are left intact. Patients may have a shorter hospital stay, as there are typically fewer complications and faster healing time associated with this technique.

High-performance Alternative to Total Hip Replacement

Birmingham Hip Resurfacing

Active patients who suffer from hip pain due to arthritis, dysplasia or avascular necrosis may benefit from the bone-conserving approach of the BIRMINGHAM HIP◊ Resurfacing System (BHR Hip). Because this technologically advanced surgical procedure resurfaces rather than replaces the end of your femur (thighbone), you may participate in physical activity with an implant that is potentially longer-lasting and more stable than total hip replacements.
